FAQ

Our hop oils are specially developed products for the efficient and targeted flavoring of beers and beverages. Depending on the hop oil type, different leading substances and aroma components of hops are highlighted.

No, the hop oils are completely free from any bitter substances.

Hop oils of the TYPE DRY VARIETY SPECIFIC correspond to the variety typical composition of the hop oil components. TYPE ESSENTIAL VARIETY SPECIFIC contain enriched fractions of the beer-soluble aroma substances of a specific hop variety.

All hop oils should ideally be stored between 1 - 10°C. Under these conditions, they are stable for 1 to 2 years when unopened, depending on the TYPE (see corresponding product data sheet). If several dosages are made from one container, they should not be used for many weeks in order to guarantee consistant product stability.

This depends on the product application and country-specific regulations. As a rule, a declaration as "natural hop flavouring" is suitable and may have to be checked in individual cases. TYPE HOPTANICAL is usually declared as "natural flavouring preparation".

The hop oils are obtained from natural hop products exclusively by means of gentle, physical processes.

In order to ideally preserve the aroma properties of the oils, they are packaged in aluminum bottles of various container sizes.

Yes, all hop oils are made exclusively from hops. Only TYPE HOPTANICAL is enriched with other natural flavor extracts.

For a practicable dosage and a homogeneous distribution of the aroma substances in the beverage, dilution is necessary

In the case of the hop oil products TYPE DRY VARIETY SPECIFIC and TYPE ESSENTIAL VARIETY SPECIFIC, natural variations in the composition of the aroma substances may occur due to the annual growing conditions. However, all other hop oil products are standardized and always produce the same aroma profile.

There are no limits! Depending on the product group, hoppy-spicy flavors from kettle hopping can be imitated, but a very aroma-intensive dry hopping flavor can also be achieved in beer. TYPE HOPTANICAL provides additional aroma impressions from plants and herbs combined with the typical aroma profile from hops.

The ideal dosing takes place into the beer stream during one of the last process steps, e.g. before the last filtration. Alternatively, dosing in the tank before filling is also possible.

The oils are shipped in pipette bottles and can be dosed directly to your beer. A few drops per liter are enough to get a first impression. It couldn't be easier!

The biggest savings come from dry hopping using hop oil instead of pellets. With 100% hop oil, you completely reduce beer losses due to the avoidance of introduced plant material. The benefit here is considerable!

Any beer style with a hop-pronounced aroma is suitable. Even below the odor threshold of individual aroma substances, hop oils can improve the overall impression of beer.

The hop oils are supplied ready to use. If necessary, the hop oils can also be further diluted in degassed brewing water or propylene glycol for immediate use.

The storage stability of hop aroma compounds is the same as when other hop products are used.

Yes, the hop oil products are 100% light stable. They also help mask possible off-flavors and are thus beneficial for taste and aging stability.

All hop oils are suitable for the production of non-alcoholic beers. However, TYPE SELECTED FREE has been specially developed to improve the mouthfeel and gives the beer a pleasant hop note, depending on the dosage.

Late hop applications in the brewhouse as well as hop applications for dry hopping can be reduced or completely replaced by hop oil applications in the cold block.
